‘Fast and Furious’ franchise to end with 11th film — report
The “Fast and Furious” movie franchise is reportedly coming to a conclusion after the 11th film.
According to Variety, Justin Lin who directed the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth instalments is set to return to direct the final two films.
The “Fast & Furious” cinematic universe follows a group of car-enthusiasts who go on various action-packed adventures on the road.
The first film, “The Fast and the Furious” starring Paul Walker and Vin Diesel came out in 2001.
Variety said the latest film, “F9,” was supposed to premiere earlier this year but it was pushed back to 2021 in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The film stars “Fast & Furious” regulars Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, as well as Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and John Cena.
