BTS gets a shoutout from the President of South Korea
When BTS became the first Korean act to debut at Billboard #1, the boy band achieved quite the feat not just for themselves but for the whole of South Korea — and none other President Moon Jae-In is recognizing that.
On Twitter, the South Korean Chief Executive congratulated the K-pop group for their achievement. "BTS has achieved its first No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, writing a new chapter in K-pop history as the first Korean band to do so," he began, taking note of BTS' previous achievements in Billboard.
"It is a splendid feat that further raises pride in K-pop. The song 'Dynamite,' which topped the list, is all the more meaningful as it has been composed to give a message of comfort and hope to people around the world who are struggling with COVID-19," he continued.

"It will bring huge consolation to Koreans suffering from the national crisis caused by COVID-19. I offer my heartfelt congratulations," he ended his note.
Its is quite a high time for BTS. Before debuting at #1 in the Billboard charts — and becoming the first Korean act to do so — the boy band took home four freaking awards at the VMAs, where they performed for the very first time.
Their performance was a pretty hyped affair too after BTS released its first English song, "Dynamite" and shattering the record for the largest premiere in YouTube history. — LA, GMA News
