Katy Perry gives birth to baby girl!

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just welcomed their baby girl Daisy Dove Bloom!

The American singer and “Lord of the Rings” actor have confirmed the good news through a joint statement posted on the Instagram page of UNICEF, where both are goodwill ambassadors.

Sharing a snapshot of Daisy’s tiny hand held by Katy and Orlando, the couple said: “We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter.”

Although they’d received a great blessing, the couple said they knew they were lucky since “not everyone can have a birthing experience as peaceful” as theirs.

“Communities around the world are still experiencing a shortage of healthcare workers and every 11 seconds a pregnant woman or newborn dies, mostly from preventable causes,” they said. “Since COVID-19 many more newborn lives are at risk because of the increased lack of access to water, soap, vaccines and medicines that prevent diseases. As parents to a newborn, this breaks our hearts, as we empathize with struggling parents now more than ever.”

To celebrate the birth of their daughter and the “heart” they know their daughter had, both Katy and Orlando set up a donation page which would support “a safe start to life.”

The “Firework” singer first announced she was pregnant in March through her “Never Worn White” music video where she revealed her baby bump toward the end of the clip.

Katy and Orlando were engaged in February 2019, 3 years after they began dating.

Daisy is Katy’s firstborn with Orlando, who has another child with former wife Miranda Kerr, his 9-year-old son Flynn. – Kaela Malig/RC, GMA News
