Katy Perry says soon-to-be born baby is her 'silver lining' to 2020

Despite all the horrible things happening this year, Katy Perry is not interested in canceling 2020.

The reason, of course, is the little bundle of joy that she will soon bring into the world: her baby with Orlando Bloom.

"I've been saying I will not write off 2020 because it's not fair to my unborn daughter just yet who obviously is the silver lining to this piece of s*** year," she said in Nelson Canlas' report for "24 Oras."

The American pop star, who is set to release her sixth album, also said turning into a "mama bear" has made her bolder in terms of her values.

"I'm excited to take that newfound fire and apply it in all aspects of my life," said the mom-to-be, who is having a baby girl.

She said she debated whether or not to release her music this year, but she ultimately decided to go for it.

"I think everyone that's putting something out in 2020 is going, 'Is this helping?' And for me I think this record has a lot of thoughtfulness to it, a lot of hope, a lot of resilience, a lot of joy, a lot of good energy," she said.

Perry also surprised fans in an online meet and encouraged them to take care of their emotional well-being amid the pandemic.

"Tears are made of salt and saltwater heals you. We take saltwater baths so that our body can be healed," she said. "Anyone that's crying and crying a lot, great, they're just healing themselves." —MGP, GMA News
