K-pop singer Zico to enlist in military by end of July
South Korean singer Zico has joined the list of K-pop stars to enter military service amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As confirmed by KOZ Entertainment in Soompi's report on Tuesday, the member of boy band Block B will be enlisting on July 30.
"After receiving basic military training, he will serve as a public service worker," the agency said.
According to Soompi, Zico is the fifth Block B member to enlist in the military following Jaehyo, Taeil, B-Bomb and U-Kwon.
Block B, a seven-member group, is best known for their songs "Very Good" and "Dreams Come True."
Other Korean stars who recently enlisted as an active duty soldier include EXO's Suho, "The King: Eternal Monarch" star Woo Do Hwan, and "Goblin" actor Yook Sung Jae.
"Reply 1988" star Park Bo Gum, meanwhile, will begin his enlistment as a "cultural promotion soldier of the navy" in August. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
