American actress Kelly Preston dies at 57 after battling breast cancer
American actress Kelly Preston has died. She was 57.
Citing a family representative, PEOPLE reported that Kelly passed away on the morning of July 12.
"On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer," a family representative told PEOPLE.
The family representative told PEOPLE that Kelly has been undergoing medical treatment for some time, choosing to keep her fight private.
"She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time," the family rep said.
The American actress is survived by her husband John Travolta and their children Ella, 20, and son Benjamin, 9.
According to PEOPLE, their son Jett died at the age of 16 in January 2009.
The last photo Kelly posted on Instagram was a family portrait in celebration of Father's Day in June.
"Happy Father’s Day to the best one I know, we love you," she captioned the photo.
