'The King: Eternal Monarch' star Woo Do Hwan offered a lead role in new K-drama
If his dual roles as Jo Yeong and Jo Eun-sop in "The King: Eternal Monarch" isn't enough, here's some good news.
Woo Do Hwan has been offered to star as the lead role in a new Korean drama.
Citing a source from Ilgan Sports, Soompi reported that Woo Do Hwan will be transforming into Oh Gyu Tae, the main character of a drama titled "Hero."
According to Soompi, KeyEast Entertainment clarified to Newsen that "Hero" is only one of the projects Woo Do Hwan was offered.
The report said the idea behind "Hero" originates from the thought that "a huge, invisible force is at work behind the unjust ways of the modern world where those who perform good deeds are treated like criminals."
"The drama tells the story of ordinary people who go against the enormous evil power that is throwing society into disorder in their attempt to reach their objectives," the report stated.
Soompi said Woo Do Hwan was offered to play the role of Oh Gyu Tae who is a former prosecutor who became jobless.
Aside from that, his character was a former amateur boxing athlete until high school but after his older brothers mysterious suicide, Oh Gyu Tae gave up on career sports.
He then studied to become a prosecutor, but after his trial for a chaebol or a family own-conglomerate, he loses his cool resulting in him being forced to retire from his position with his license as a lawyer suspended for one year.
Soompi said the series will be produced by Daydream Entertainment and screenwriter Park Hee Kang to work on the script.
