Lee Min Ho says he’s always wanted to work with Kim Go Eun

It looks like everybody will finally be able to move on from "Crash Landing On You." Netflix’s "The King: Eternal Monarch," which starts streaming today, is about to become your new K-Drama obsession-slash-ECQ must-watch K-Drama.

The series stars Lee Min Ho, who breaks his three-year onscreen absence and makes his comeback after his military service and reunites him with "The Heirs" writer Kim Eun Suk.

In this fantasy romance, our main couple meet-cute when Emperor Lee Gon (Lee Min Ho) crosses a portal to a parallel world and bumps into detective Jung Tae Eul (Kim Go Eun).

It’s the first time the two actors are working on a project together, although they do share something in common: They both have worked with The King writer Kim Eun Suk before—Lee Min Ho on The Heirs and Kim Go Eun on Goblin.

In a video conference call with select members of the press, Lee Min Ho said he’s always wanted to work with Go Eun having seen her take on so many different roles in the past. “I knew that I always wanted to have the chance to work with her onscreen because I’ve [watched] her play many different characters in different [projects].”

Aside from Go Eun’s versatility, Min Ho also talks up the actress’ many charms, “I was very happy to work with her. On set, she [displayed] a variety of charms. Sometimes she’d be like an older sister to me, [other times] she’d be like a much younger sister.” He adds, “I really think and hope that through The King: Eternal Monarch, viewers will also be able to see a lot more of [her] charm.” — LA, GMA News

The King: Eternal Monarch starts streaming on Netflix April 17 at 10:30PM. Subsequent episodes will be streamed weekly, every Friday and Saturday.
