Emma Watson turns 30: ‘Thanks for having my back’

Emma Watson turned 30 on April 15, and already she’s a respected actress, a fashion icon and a UN Woman Goodwill Ambassador.

The British actor marked her day with a cute childhood photo, and expressed her gratefulness to her supporters in the caption.

“Wow. 30! What an adventure that was.... You, out there - that have supported me - thank you. Thank you for all your kindness. Thanks for having my back. ??

Since this woman hit the big 3-0, let’s all look back at some legendary moments when Emma proved she’s the epitome of #GirlGoals:

1.When she gave a speech on gender equality for UN Women

Who can forget Ms. Watson’s eye-opening speech at the United Nations during the launch of the HeForShe campaign, a movement for gender equality.

The actress tackled the demonization of the word “feminism,” her own experience with gender inequality, what the ideology actually stands for, and the role of men in it.

"For the record, feminism by definition is: 'The belief that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities. It is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of the sexes'," she said.

2. When she landed the ultimate Disney princess role, and rocked it

Emma Watson’s acting and overall  loveliness as Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” was already enough.

But then the British actress showed us all just how she deserved the role by revealing she also sings like a Disney princess.

3. When she announced that she was happily self-partnered

In an iconic interview with British Vogue a few months before turning 30, Emma revealed that she “never believed the whole 'I'm happy single' spiel.”

"It took me a long time, but I'm very happy. I call it being self-partnered," she added.

What a legend.

Happy Birthday, Emma!
