Jo Koy, Korean celebrities react to Taal eruption

Some international celebrities offer their prayers for the victims of the Taal volcano eruption on Sunday afternoon.

The phreatic or steam-driven eruption prompted thousands in the vicinity to be evacuated, while ash continues to fall across several areas including Metro Manila.

Fil-Am comic Jo Koy, who happens to be in the Philippines, urged his followers to offer prayers for the victims.

In a clip posted on his Instagram Stories and captioned "Mahal kita," he said that there is ash everywhere.

"I am out here in the Philippines and I want everyone to send their prayers out to the families who were affected by the volcano last night. Ash, yes, everywhere," he said.

However, he promised his fans in Cebu that he is not cancelling his visit there, but that his flight there was moved to the 17th. He also said his gig at the Mall of Asia Arena is still happening.

Korean singer-actor Kim Myung Soo, who held a fanmeet in Manila last Sunday, thanked his fans who came to his event.

"I would like to thank all the fans who came to the fanmeeting tonight. Due to the eruption of a volcano near Manila, I hope that no one will be affected by this natural calamity," he said in an Instagram post.

Super Junior member Siwon Choi is also hoping that no one is seriously hurt from the eruption.

"My prayer goes out to the children and the elderly and infirm of the Philippines. I hope no one is seriously hurt from the volcanic eruptions and the earthquakes," he said.
