The #SongSongCouple is officially over, as court approves divorce

After news spread of their divorce last month, top Korean actors Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo's marriage has formally ended. The Seoul Family Court approved a divorce settlement between the two on Monday.

The Korean Times reported that the court held a close-door hearing for the divorce arrangement, and only the legal representatives of the two stars were present.

Although the court didn't provide details about the settlement, the newspaper said that the settlement came 25 days after Song Joong-ki sought a divorce to end his 20-month marriage to Song Hye-kyo.

The couple wanted a divorce due to irreconcilable differences, according to Hye Kyo's agency.

Shortly after divorce news broke in June, the hashtag #WalangForever trended on Twitter.

The high profile couple got married in October of 2017 after they worked together on the Korean TV drama series "Descendants of the Sun" back in 2016. — LA/BAP, GMA News
