'Avengers: Endgame' stars thank Pinoy fans in heartfelt message
Pinoy fans were thrilled when the actors in "Avengers: Endgame" gave them a very special message on Friday.
"To our fans in the Philippines who have been deemed the biggest fans in Southeast Asia, from the bottom of my arc reactor heart, thank you for the overwhelming love and support you've shown to the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe] over the past 10 years. We got you whatever it takes!" said Robert Downey Jr. who played Iron Man in the movie.
Jeremy Renner, who was Hawkeye in the movie, agreed with Downey, telling Pinoys, "You are the biggest fans. You guys rock.
"I'm so excited. I know you're so excited. Let's be excited together," he added.
Brie Larson who played Captain Marvel in the film was all heart when she said, "Sending my photon blast-filled love to you and all as we journey into endgame."
Directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russon chimed in and said, "Fans of the MCU in the Philippines, we wanna thank you!"
“Avengers: Endgame” raked in P205,676,345 across 970 screens on opening day earlier this week.
It was the biggest opening of a Marvel film in Philippine cinemas, breaking the opening day record of 2018’s “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Long lines were already seen at cinemas across the country even before daybreak, as cinemas started screening as early as 6 a.m.
Some cinemas even showed the film with Chinese subtitles which irked some netizens.
The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board however found nothing wrong with the special screenings of the movie with Chinese subtitles in selected cinemas. —KG, GMA News
