We're all in this together... for the fourth time!

Much to the delight of fans all over the world, the beloved High School Musical TV movie franchise is officially set for a much-awaited return on the big screen.

Disney Channel announced the making of “High School Musical 4” on Wednesday, March 2, with a new set of East High Wildcats, according to a report by E! Online

Aside from meeting the new Wildcats, the fans will also get to know more about East High's rivals, the West High knights.

“High School Musical is part of Disney Channel's DNA. It embodies all that we stand for,” says Disney Channel President Gary Marsh.

He added, “As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we're excited to announce 'the start of something new' as we launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth installment of the 'High School Musical' franchise."

Among the production team that will give life once again to East High and its Wildcats are Jeffrey Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2) as director and choreographer, with Peter Barsocchini (High School Musical franchise) and Dan Berendsen as scriptwriters (Hannah Montana: The Movie).

The announcement from Disney Channel came over a month after the original cast reunited for a special segment celebrating the sensation's 10-year anniversary broadcast.

Whether the movie will include the original cast—Zac Efron,  Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, and Monique Coleman—is yet to be finalized, but casting will begin soon, according to the report.

High School Musical started to air in 2006, and became one of the most phenomenal romantic comedy musical television film.

A television sequel, “High School Musical 2,” was released in 2007, followed by the feature film, “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” released theatrically in October 2008. — APG, GMA News
