Stephen Hawking to Best Actor Eddie Redmayne: 'Well done, I'm proud of you'

Although he was not able to attend the Academy Awards last Sunday, Stephen Hawking extended his congratulations to Eddie Redmayne, who won Best Actor for his performance as the physicist in "The Theory of Everything."

 

"Congratulations to Eddie Redmayne for winning an ?#‎Oscar? for playing me in The Theory of Everything Movie," said the award-winning English theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author on his Facebook page. 

 

He added, "Well done Eddie, I'm very proud of you." 

 

 

 

The 33-year-old British actor won his Academy Award for best actor for playing Hawking and the disabling complications of a motor neuron disease, known as Lou Gehrig's disease or ALS, over the course of 30 years.

 

"The Theory of Everything" tells of the story of Hawking's life as well as his relationship with his future wife, Jane Wilde Hawking, as he deals with the said disease. —Bianca Rose Dabu/JST, GMA News
