What original Amihan thinks of Encantadia remake

Sa 2016, nakatakdang gawin ng GMA-7 ang remake ng Encantadia.

Inamin ni Iza Calzado na nagka-idea na siya tungkol dito bago pa i-announce dahil sa Instagram post ng director na si Mark Reyes.

Aniya, “We have an Encantadia chat group. Meron kaming Enca group in Viber and I knew about it before they even announced it.”

Dagdag pa niya, “I saw Direk Mark’s post and Suzette Doctolero was there so sabi ko, ‘Alam ko ‘yang ginagawa niyo, alam ko yan…’ Sabi niya, ‘Top secret…’ Maya-maya in-announce naman agad.”

Masaya man si Iza para sa mga dating katrabaho sa Kapuso network ngunit sinabi nito na mataas din ang expectations hindi lang sa apat na bagong Sang'gre kundi maging sa buong cast at crew ng remake.

Sabi ni Iza, “Honestly, I’m so glad that I was part of such a huge success that until now it’s trending still, ang galing and I just hope that they can do something to equal that, if not, surpass it.

“Sorry, but the girls who are gonna play in it, they have tough shoes to fill and I’m not just saying this for my character, it’s all of us.

“Actually, it’s not just the Sang’gres. The show had such… it was our working relationship at that time that I would take so much pride in.

“We were so solid for a good year and that’s hard to find.

“I’ve been doing this for 13 years now so I have to say that it’s tough to be as bonded as that, when we were doing that.

“And I think, that’s also part of the reason why we were all inspired during that time, why the people also loved the show.

“And yun, I wish them all the best, that’s all I can say.”

Dagdag pa niya, “Basta happy ako sa kanila but at the same time siyempre, I belong already to another network and with all due respect to my current home network, siyempre I can’t be part of that.”

Sa puntong ito, tinanong na rin ng PEP.ph si Iza kung sino ang gusto niyang gumanap sa kanyang karakter bilang si Amihan.

Sagot naman ni Iza, “If they are going to keep within the… we were early when we did that, e, but I think it should be someone like maybe Carla [Abellana] or Jennylyn [Mercado] to play Amihan.

Patuloy pa niya, “Meron kasi silang kino-consider pero I think they’re holding auditions so bahala na sila, may the best Sang’gre win.” —PEP
