PEP: PMPC bares nominees for 22nd Star Awards for TV
Pagkatapos maitanghal ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC), Inc. ang kanilang 24th Star Awards for Movies nung June 27, 2008, ang 22nd Star Awards for Television naman ang pinaghahandaan ng nasabing press club. Pagkalipas ng halos dalawang buwang pagre-review ng best TV shows and performances ng nakaraang taon, pormal nang inihayag ng voting members ng PMPC ang mga nominado para sa darating na 22nd PMPC Star Awards for Television. Para sa taong ito, napili ng PMPC si Ms. Rosa Rosal bilang recipient ng Ading Fernando Lifetime Achievement Award, at si Senator Loren Legarda naman ang gagawaran ng Excellence in Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award. As of press time ay inaayos pa ang mga detalye para sa Gabi ng Parangal na malamang ganapin by late November. Samantala, narito ang official nominees ng 22nd PMPC Star Awards for Television: Para sa Best Single Performance by an Actress category, lahat ng nominado ay mula sa Maalaala Mo Kaya ng ABS-CBN. Sila ay sina Gloria Romero ("Singsing" episode), Susan Roces ("Basura"), Helen Gamboa ("Mesa"), Cherry Pie Picache ("Tren"), Shaina Magdayao ("Telebisyon"), at Angel Locsin ("Pilat"). Ang mga beteranang aktres na sina Gloria Romero at Susan Roces ay ngayon lang magkakalaban sa isang TV award-giving body. For Best Primetime TV Series, pasok sa panlasa ng PMPC ang dalawang Kapamilya shows na Lobo at Ysabella, samantalang tatlo naman ang Kapuso shows: ang Impostora, La Vendetta, at Joaquin Bordado. Kahit noon pa ay may rule sa PMPC na hindi puwedeng i-nominate ang anumang show (and its performances) na halaw o franchise ng anumang imported TV show, tulad ng Marimar.
