Ely Buendia took to social media to issue an official statement regarding sexual harassment allegations against Eraserheads lead guitarist Marcus Adoro.
On Instagram, Ely made a statement post in collaboration with "Eraserheads: Combo on The Run" director Diane Ventura.
"We acknowledge the recent allegations that have surfaced online," Ely wrote. "As proponents of justice, we unequivocally condemn all criminal acts and stand against abuse of any form. Above all, we seek the truth."
"As Marcus makes time to address the matter at hand, he will be stepping back from the upcoming project," he added. "We move forward with humility and deep respect for the truth and social responsibility."
Eraserheads will have an upcoming concert on May 31 at the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City.
In March, a netizen on Reddit claimed that Marcus "raped" her when she was in High School.
As of writing, Marcus has yet to comment on the sexual harassment allegations against him.
"Eraserheads: Combo On The Run" aired in the cinemas in March. It tells the story of one of the greatest Filipino bands of all time.
Aside from Eraserheads' rise to the top, the film also shows the untold story of their painful breakup and the challenges it took to get back on stage for their historic reunion concert, "Ang Huling El Bimbo" in 2022, which drew in an estimated crowd of more than 60,000 fans.
