Baron Geisler briefly detained due to alleged drunkenness in Cebu

Actor Baron Geisler was briefly detained by authorities in Mandaue City, Cebu on Saturday, February 22, after allegedly causing a commotion due to drunkenness.

According to Futch Anthony Inso's report on Super Radyo DZBB Monday, the Mandaue City Police Office said they received a call about a man allegedly causing a disturbance due to intoxication on H. Abellana Street in Barangay Canduman.

Geisler was taken into custody in violation of City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434 in relation to drunkenness or severe intoxication, per the report. He was released later that day after paying the fine for his violation.

GMA News Online reached out to Tinggay Ventosa of ALV Talent Circuit, Geisler's agency, for comment. According to Ventosa, an official statement will be released regarding the incident. 

Super Radyo Cebu is also currently trying to reach Geisler for a statement.

Meanwhile, in a Facebook post on Monday, Geisler said that there’s been some “misinformation” and “confusion” circulating online regarding the incident.

He also called out news outlets for failing “to verify the facts before reporting.”

“I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly,” he wrote.

“To those who continue to stand by me, thank you,” he added. “Your support means everything.”
