Tito Sotto denies claim that Vic Sotto was sent script of Darryl Yap's Pepsi Paloma film
Tito Sotto said neither he nor his brother Vic Sotto read the script of Darryl Yap's upcoming movie "The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma."
As seen in a report read by Vicky Morales on "24 Oras," Monday, Tito denied the claim made by Yap's legal counsel, Atty. Raymond Fortun, that his brother was sent a copy of the script.
"Not true. False. They gave a script to Vic del Rosario, not Vic Sotto. Vic nor I never read their script," the former Senate President wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Vic del Rosario is the founder of Viva Films, which produced Yap's 2022 film "Maid in Malacañang."
"The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma" is produced by Yap's own production outfit, VinCentiments.
Vic Sotto filed 19 counts of cyberlibel against Yap after a teaser of the film mentioned his name and accused him of rape.
Yap addressed the complaint in a statement, saying that the materials he released or will release have been documented and publicized.
He has also asked the court to consolidate the cases filed by Vic Sotto. The court has already asked for comments from Sotto's camp.
Meanwhile, the court granted the gag order requested by Yap to prohibit Sotto's camp from publicly disclosing or discussing a case filed over the teaser of "The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma."
The January 15 hearing for the case was also pushed back to January 17.
