Elijah Alejo got held up while on her way to school; advises public to stay safe

Elijah Alejo took to social media to share her scary experience of getting held up.

In a TikTok video uploaded on Thursday, the Sparkle star narrated that she was on her way to campus early this morning for a 5:30 a.m. call time for a tree planting activity.

She decided to ride a motortaxi as she was running late.

“Supposedly, pagkarating namin dun sa campus, dun dapat ako magpapababa sa loob pero nagpapadagdag si kuyang rider kaya hindi na ako pumayag,” Elijah said.

The driver dropped her off on a sidewalk. After she paid and the driver left, she started walking towards the campus gate when she felt someone suddenly point a sharp object to her side. She was then told to hand over her wallet.

“It was pa-simple. At that time, nag-freeze ‘yung utak ko. Lahat ng alam kong self-defense, lahat as in, nawala. Biglang naglaho na parang bula. As in, natakot ako,” she said, adding that she just handed her wallet.

Despite the incident, Elijah still feels grateful that she’s safe.

"Thank God I'm safe. Ang problem lang is walang CCTV dun sa area,” she said.

Elijah ended her video by telling viewers to stay safe when commuting: “To everyone na naglalakad or kaya nagko-commute, stay safe everyone.”

Elijah is currently the breadwinner of her family and is supporting her mom, who is battling cancer. She previously opened up on balancing her showbiz career and her studies.

The actress is known for her roles in the GMA afternoon series "Prima Donnas" and "Underage."
