'Balota' starring Marian Rivera adds more cinemas, screening times in its 2nd week

“Balota,” starring Marian Rivera, added more cinemas and screening times in its second week of airing in Philippine cinemas.

On Instagram, GMA Pictures announced that the certified top-grosser film is now airing in Century City Mall Makati, Robinsons Ormoc, Robinsons Roxas, and Robinsons Imus.

Meanwhile, additional screening times are also in effect in Gateway 2 theaters.

"Balota" is written and directed by Kip Oebanda. Marian's highly praised performance as Teacher Emmy in the film led her to win the Best Actress trophy at the Cinemalaya awards night in August. She shared the honor with Gabby Padilla.

The cast also includes Gardo Versoza, Will Ashley, Raheel Bhyria, Royce Cabrera, Sassa Gurl, Esnyr, Nico Antonio, Donna Cariaga, Joel Saracho, Sue Prado, and Mae Paner.

The film marked its international premiere at the 44th Hawaii International Film Festival (HIFF) in the second week of October.

"Balota" is showing in cinemas nationwide with a new cut. Discounted tickets will be granted to eligible teachers and students who bring their valid school ID to the cinemas.
