Marian Rivera led the cast of "Balota" at the film’s red carpet premiere on Friday night ahead of its theatrical release.

Other stars who were present at the premiere night held in Gateway Mall 2 were Will Ashley, Raheel Bhyria, Esnyr, Sassa Gurl, and Donna Cariaga.

Also in attendance were Director Kip Oebanda and GMA executives, GMA Network's Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes; GMA Pictures Executive Vice President and GMA Public Affairs First Vice President Nessa Valdellon; and GMA Senior Vice President for Entertainment Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable.

Dingdong Dantes, Marian's ever-supportive husband, graced the red carpet premiere, too.

The Kapuso Primetime Queen expressed her excitement for "Balota's" upcoming theatrical release and thanked all the supporters of the film.

"Maraming maraming salamat. Actually very excited ako and finally mapapalabas na siya nationwide, so ibig sabihin mas maraming makakakuha ang mensahe nitong pelikula na 'to," she said.

The Cinemalaya 2024 entry “Balota” follows the story of a land-grabbing tycoon and a former male sexy actor who are locked in a tight race for the mayoral seat of a small town. When violence erupts, a teacher runs into the forest with a ballot box containing the last copy of the election results.

Marian played the role of Teacher Emmy, and her highly praised performance led her to win the Best Actress trophy at the Cinemalaya awards night. She shared the honor with Gabby Padilla.

Balota” will return to Philippine cinemas starting October 16 with a new cut.

Discounted tickets will be granted to eligible teachers and students who bring their valid school ID to the cinemas.
