Robb Guinto, Azi Acosta quash misconceptions about being 'sexy' stars

Robb Guinto and Azi Acosta opened up about their experience as Vivamax actresses and debunked some misconceptions about being “sexy" stars.

Robb and Azi graced Thursday's episode of “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,” where they shared about their humble beginnings as actresses.

For Robb, she entered the showbiz industry because she wanted to earn money for her family.

“Siguro sa akin sa family. Kasi ‘yon po iyong way ko para kumita ng pera. Since I joined din naman sa mga magazines, so sabi ko why not hindi pa dito sa mas malaking pangalan. Bakit hindi pa sa Viva?” she said.

Meanwhile, Azi, now 20 years old, said she first wanted to try wholesome films and make sexy films later on when she turns 23.

“Tapos sinabihan ako na, 'Kung gagawin mo rin naman, why not ngayon? Bata ka pa,’” she recalled. 

Azi, who started doing Vivamax films at 18, added that her mom didn’t really like the idea as she was still young back then.

Tito Boy then asked Robb and Azi brought up some misconceptions about "sexy" stars, which they all refuted.

The first misconception they were told about was that sexy stars are flirty.

“Hindi po totoo. Hindi naman porket naghuhubad kami, ‘yon na agad ang tingin sa amin ng tao," said Robb.

Echoing Robb’s answer, Azi added, “Marami po talagang ganyan na porket akala nila naghuhubad kami, ganoon din kami sa totoong buhay. It’s not true.”

They also shared how hard it is to go nude for a role, with Robb saying, “Sa una siyempre, sobrang hirap talaga sa part namin dahil kumbaga pinapakita mo ‘yung lahat eh. I mean, wala na kaming tinatago talaga. All out na talaga ‘yon eh.”

They also quashed the misconception that being a sexy star is just being a pretty face, with the two emphasizing that it is also important to be “smart,” “eloquent,” “strategic” and above all, easy to get along with.

Sexy stars are also not high maintenance, said Robb and Azi, as they both enjoy the simple things, like eating street food.

They also refuted the misconception that sexy stars are not serious when it comes to relationships.

“Mali. Siyempre may mahirap din na part sa amin kasi hindi naman halos lahat ng lalaki, makakaintindi sa trabaho namin. Kailangan namin ng isang lalaki na open-minded sa ginagawa naming trabaho,” said Robb.

Robb and Azi starred together in the Vivamax film "Sugar Baby" in 2023. Robb also played the role of Sabel in the GMA Primetime drama action series "Black Rider," which aired its finale in July. Azi, on the other hand, previously starred in the film "Balik Taya" and the mini series "Erotica Manila," among others.
