Chanty of Lapillus says her work ethic as a K-pop idol can help in her acting career

Chanty of Lapillus says her work ethic as a K-pop idol can help in her acting career

Being a K-pop idol can come in handy for Lapillus member Chanty’s foray into acting.

During a media conference for GMA Network’s upcoming series “Maka” on Tuesday, the Filipina-Argentinian singer was asked how being a member of Lapillus helped her in her role in the show.

Chanty shared that being an idol in South Korea has somehow helped her career as a budding actress in the Philippines.

"Para sa akin siguro po 'yung experience ko sa Korea nakatulong po naman siya dito sa Philippines somehow," she said.

While Chanty isn't really sure yet how she's going to combine her work as a singer and actress, she highlighted that the work ethic she developed in South Korea's entertainment industry is something she wants to apply to her acting career.

"Well, I work there as a singer and here, I work as an actress. So, hindi ko po alam paano ko siya ipagsasama or something. Pero 'yung mga natutunan ko po sa Korea is 'yung work ethics nila na I desire and I want to apply din here in the Philippines and I feel na makakatulong naman po," she shared.

Chanty is set to appear in the upcoming Kapuso weekly teen-oriented show “Maka.”

Aside from Chanty, the cast includes Sparkle teen stars Zephanie, Dylan Menor, Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, John Clifford, Olive May, Sean Lucas, and "Bangus Girl" May Ann Basa, and award-winning actor Romnick Sarmenta.

“Maka” is set to air on September 21.

Chanty is currently on a break from Lapillus group activities due to health issues.

She graced the GMA Gala 2024 in July where she confirmed with GMA News Online that she is still with Lapillus.

Composed of Chanty, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, and Haeun, Lapillus debuted in 2022 under MLD Entertainment with the song “Hit Ya!”

In the same year, Lapillus performed on Philippine television, including “All Out Sundays,” and had a series of fan meetings and other promotional activities.

At the Asia Artist Awards 2023 held at the Philippine Arena last December, Lapillus was among the artists who attended and won awards.

Chanty signed with Sparkle GMA Artist Center in 2022.
