Kyline Alcantara admits feeling nervous as she returns to playing kontrabida for ‘Shining Inheritance’

Kyline Alcantara admitted that she’s feeling a lot of pressure as she returns to playing a kontrabida for the Philippine adaptation of the K-drama “Shining Inheritance.”

In a media conference on Friday, the Sparkle star said that playing the antagonist role was her comfort zone back then.

She added that she specifically requested from her team to let her be a kontrabida character again because she missed playing a complex role.

In the series, she will introduce viewers to Joanna Dela Costa.

“Joanna is really complicated. Sobra. And Joanna’s feisty, she’s aggressive also. At isa po sa hindi magandang nagagawa ni Joanna ay feisty and aggressive din po siya pagdating sa lola niya,” she said.

Kyline teased that she has plenty of intense catfight scenes with Kate Valdez in the series.

When asked how they go about such scenes, Kyline said, “Yakapan muna po, pag-uusapan namin, ‘Tototohanin ba natin?’

So, alam namin na trabaho ‘to,” she continued.

Kyline last played an antagonist role in “Kambal, Karibal.”

Kyline and Kate will star alongside Coney Reyes, Michael Sager, Paul Salas, and more in "Shining Inheritance."

"Shining Inheritance" originally starred Lee Seung Gi, Han Hyo Joo, Moon Chae Won, and Bae Soo Bin.

The story follows a woman from a rich family who suddenly loses everything after the death of her father.

The Philippine adaptation of “Shining Inheritance” will begin airing on September 9 at 4 p.m. on GMA Afternoon Prime.
