Ruru Madrid shares first look at MMFF 2024 entry ‘Green Bones’

The excitement for “Green Bones,” GMA Pictures' entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024, is on!

On Instagram, Ruru Madrid, one of the stars of "Green Bones," shared a little sneak peak from the movie set.

Among the photos he shared was a clapperboard and a first look at his character. He also posted a photo of him with co-star Dennis Trillo and movie director Zig Dulay.

“Abangan,” Ruru teased.

Ruru and Dennis will star alongside Kylie Padilla and Sofia Pablo.

"Green Bones" is based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs. The screenplay was written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza.

According to GMA Pictures, "Green Bones" tells the story of a man who is notorious for the grisly murder of his sister and her daughter. Already up for parole, a newly assigned prison guard takes a personal interest in making sure that he remains behind bars — no matter what it takes.

The film made it to the first five finalists of MMFF 2024, along with "And the breadwinner is…," "Strange Frequencies: Haunted Hospital," "Himala: Isang Musikal," and "The Kingdom."

Ruru recently starred in “Black Rider” and is set to reprise his role as Ybrahim in the upcoming “Encantadia” spin-off “Sang’gre.”
