Mother Lily Monteverde, Regal Entertainment matriarch, passes away

Lily Monteverde, the long-time matriarch of Regal Entertainment, has passed away. She was 84 years old.

Her son, UP Fighting Maroons head coach Goldwin Monteverde, confirmed the news through a text message to GMA News Online.

Known as "Mother Lily" in the showbiz industry, Monteverde helmed Regal for several decades and produced many blockbuster films, including the iconic "Mano Po" anthology.

She was married to Remy Monteverde, who died on July 29, just a few days before her passing.
