‘Pulang Araw’ trends on X as Kapuso series makes Netflix debut
“Pulang Araw” immediately became a trending topic on X (formerly Twitter) as it made its Netflix debut on Friday evening!
Only one episode has been released so far, but viewers were already impressed by the Kapuso series’ quality.
“Grabe pilot pa lang to ah, what more sa mga susunod na episode,” an X user wrote on the social media platform.
Other netizens also took notice of the show’s cinematography as well as the acting skills of the stars.
“Grabe yung acting,cinematography and color grading, pang movie,” another user said.
“Everybody in this damn show can ACT. Ang satisfying!!!” another user posted.
The pilot episode showed Eduardo (Alden Richards) sending a letter to his sister Adelina (Barbie Forteza) while he was in the middle of war.
While reading the letter, Adelina remembered her childhood with her older brother and all of the hardships they went through.
The upcoming episodes will introduce viewers to Teresita (Sanya Lopez) and Hiroshi (David Licauco).
As war ravages their homeland and Japanese forces occupy the Philippines, the four childhood friends’ dreams, friendships, and loyalties are tested, leading them on a journey of self-discovery and resilience.
The main antagonist of the series is Col. Yuta Saitoh, played by Dennis Trillo. He is a Japanese imperial army officer whose mission is to conquer the Philippines. He will have feelings for Teresita.
“Pulang Araw,” written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Dominic Zapata, will have its television premiere on July 29.
