Is Isko Moreno ready to enter politics again? Ex-mayor answers

Isko Moreno has not been in public service for almost two years since he ran in the presidential election in 2022.

After his presidential run, the former Manila City mayor made a showbiz comeback, appearing in several TV shows of the Kapuso Network.

Now, two years later, is Isko ready to enter politics again?

“I don’t think it’s on the top of my mind right now. I truly love serving the people. Half of my life, 24 years, was dedicated to public service,” the 49-year-old Isko said at Sparkle World Tour’s media conference on Thursday, adding that he thanks God for whatever he has right now.

He also expressed his utmost gratitude to the people who gave him the opportunity to serve them.

“Ipinagpapasalamat ko sa taong bayan for giving me opportunity of service. At hindi iyon mawawala sa puso ko,” the former politician shared. “Hindi ko lang siya masyadong iniintindi ngayon because I continue to fulfill my obligation as an artist of GMA 7 under Sparkle.”

Despite this, his love for the people of Manila City and to the nation that he served for more than 20 years, will always remain in his heart.

“It will continue to be there,” Isko continued.

As of now, Isko enjoys his time with his family, saying he took the break from politics as a chance to make up for the time that he lost with them due to public service.

“For the meantime, nag-eenjoy muna ako magbayad sa pamilya ko ng oras. You know, 24 years of my life doing public service, it cannot be denied that a big portion of it is pinagkait ko sa mga anak ko,” he said.

“Kaya ngayon siguro for the meantime, maunawaan naman ako ng mga tao na pamilya muna ako. Habol-habol muna nang kaunti,” he added.

Isko signed an exclusive contract with Sparkle in July 2023. He was also one of the hosts of the noontime show “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.”

He appeared in the Kapuso action series “Black Rider” alongside his son Joaquin Domagoso.

Isko will be flying to the United States in August for the Sparkle World Tour in Anaheim, California, with Julie Anne San Jose, Rayver Cruz, Alden Richards, and Aiai Delas Alas.
