4th Impact on why they left ShowBT: ‘Hindi kami nabibigyan ng spotlight’
The girls of 4th Impact used to be under the same talent management company as SB19, but just like the P-pop boy group, sisters Almira, Irene, Mylene, and Celina Cercado have also parted ways with ShowBT.
On Friday’s “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the singers revealed the reason why they decided to end their
“I guess ho, [‘yung] case po naming magkakapatid is different from SB19 kasi sa kanila is the company invested for them eh,” Almira said.
“Sa 'min kasi, naramdaman namin that — ‘di ba po sa relationship naman kung hindi ka important, parang hindi kami nabibigyan ng spotlight or whatever, kaya sabi namin it’s better na lang po na maging independent. Kaya nagpaalam po kami sa kanila nang maayos,” she continued.
4th Impact is now a self-managed group working in the United States. They are currently in the Philippines to promote their new self-titled mini album with five songs.
The girls admitted life is not easy in the US.
“Ang hirap po, Tito Boy,” Irene said.
“Financially,” Almira added.
They flew to the U.S. with no connections whatsoever, and only received help from some fans who connected them to other musicians.
In the same interview, 4th Impact said they decided to go to the States to pursue their dreams, a move they earlier did when they tried their luck with "The X-Factor" UK.
According to Almira, "may big management po kami na nagtiwala sa amin and meron lang pong misunderstandings, so kami pong magkakapatid ay, ‘yun po, umalis na po kami sa management na ‘yun,” Almira said, saying they were “trash talked” in other management companies in the industry.
It pushed them to try for the talent competition, where the Cercado sisters landed in 5th place back in 2015.
They also revealed that the show’s management wanted to sign them up. However, Irene said, “That time po, may management po kami, ayaw po nila kaming i-let go.”
