Jak Roberto reveals why he and Barbie Forteza walked solo at GMA Gala 2023 red carpet

Jak Roberto has finally addressed questions on why he and his girlfriend, Barbie Forteza, walked solo on the recent GMA Gala 2023 red carpet.

On Aubrey Carampel’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, Jak said that they went solo so they could “emphasize” their own outfits.

“Para ano mas ma-emphasize yung design nung damit, mas makalakad nang solo,” he said. “Magandang bagay din yun para talagang ma-i-flaunt mo yung suot mo and ma-establish mo yung sarili mo sa camera.”

Jak recalled that at the same event last year, they also went solo.

“Oo, last year din. solo kami, solo-solo tapos inantay ko lang siya dun sa dulo para mag-hi-hello lang sa mga team JakBie,” he added.

Although they took their separate time to walk the red carpet on their own, Jak said, “Seatmate yata kami magkakasama kami sa AOS group.”

Jak and Barbie, fondly known as #JakBie, have been in a relationship since 2017.

Barbie was among the GMA Gala night's awardees, bagging the Avignon Radiant Beauty of The Night award.

The 2023 GMA Gala Ball's theme is “elegant formal” and the stars came out in their elegant formal best including Kylie Padilla with her Encantadia-inspired number, Heart Evangelista in her Schiaparelli couture piece, and Marian Rivera who was such a vision in white, her husband Dingdong said he came dressed in the overflow of her ethereal beauty.—Carby Basina/LDF, GMA Integrated News
