'Voltes V: Legacy' earns praise from company owning franchise; to drop featurette

The "Voltes V: Legacy" earned a thumbs up from Toei Company, the owner of the "Voltes V" franchise, after dropping the teaser for an upcoming featurette on the series.

As seen on Nelson Canlas' report on "24 Oras," Thursday, the company praised "Voltes V: Legacy" for its dedication to the production amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We could feel your respect to the original series, and we also thank you for your effort, enthusiasm and hard work under this Covid situation," the company said in a letter.

Director Mark Reyes said the positive reaction from Toei is heartwarming.

"They were very happy (and) surprised with what they saw so [it's] validation sa ginawa namin ng buong team," he said.

Asked how far along is the production for the series, Reyes said it's around 50% to 60% complete.

In the meantime, fans can watch the featurette for the much-awaited live-action adaptation, which will be released during the Kapuso Countdown to 2022 on December 31 at 10:30 p.m.

"In the past two years, dalawang teaser ang nilabas natin [on] New Year so naging tradition. This year, I told production, 'Let's give them more,'" Reyes said.

"Finally, they will get to see the costumes, characters, may surprise teaser. The fans will just have fun."

Reyes has also been sharing snippets that make the fans even more excited for its release. He posted behind the scenes photos and a sneak peek at the set for Camp Big Falcon. -- Franchesca Viernes/MGP, GMA News
