No-fuss Valentine's Day for Pia Guanio, Vic Sotto

Dahil ilang araw na lang at Valentine's Day, tinanong ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) ang TV host na si Pia Guanio kung ano ang plano nila ng boyfriend niyang si Vic Sotto sa araw na 'yon. Pero nagpauna na si Pia sa pagsasabing they are not the right persons to ask sa mga ganitong okasyon. Aniya, boring daw sila ni Vic. "Naku wala! We don't believe in Valentine's. Last year, I think, we were in Las Vegas. Pero hindi rin kami nag-celebrate, we were just there. Wala kaming monthsary, wala kaming Valentine's," natatawang sabi ni Pia sa backstage ng Broadway Centrum during the live telecast of Showbiz Central last Sunday, February 10. Wala rin silang gift-giving ngayong Valentine's? "Ay hindi, may gift pala siya sa akin!" biglang naalala ni Pia. "It's an Espresso machine. Actually, hindi pa niya naibibigay. Ang sabi niya lang sa akin, 'You buy it.'" May plano ba siyang regaluhan si Vic? "Yun nga ang problema ko, e," sambit ni Pia. Mahirap bang regaluhan si Vic? "Hindi, it's because he's not very materyoso kasi. Pero to please him, it's so easy. Pakainin mo lang ‘yon ng gusto niyang pagkain, masaya na ‘yon!" natatawang sabi ng TV host. Marunong bang magluto si Pia? "I make a really good cup of coffee!" tawa niya. Kinumusta na rin ng PEP kay Pia ang tungkol sa plano nilang pagpapakasal ni Vic at kung kailan kaya ito posibleng maganap. "Not for a while, I think...I don't really know. It might happen this year. It might happen now. Anything is possible. Britney Spears got married in a day!" biro niya. "Well, anything can happen, di ba?" pahabol ni Pia. May plano na ba sila? "Well, eventually, you wanna end up with your boyfriend, di ba? I'm not saying that I wanna get married, I'm just saying na, bakit pa magbo-boyfriend kung hindi rin lang kayo magkakatuluyan? But then, in very general terms...whatever," bitin na pahayag ni Pia. Pero engaged na ba sila ni Vic? "No! Engagement needs a ring," sagot niya. Singsing na lang ba ang kulang sa kanila? "Hindi...saka engagement needs parental consent. Hindi ko naman babastusin ang parents ko by not telling them. And, in fact, it's a very important part of your life and you're not going to exclude the people that you love the most. Hindi naman ako magtatanan, sayang naman. At saka, you'll only marry once. And everything is of right time. Everything that [you] value is worth the wait," paliwanag ni Pia. Ayon kay Pia, bagama't masasabing more or less ay two years pa lang ang itinatakbo ng relationship nila ni Vic as compared sa nakaraan niyang relasyon, masasabi naman niyang what they have now is serious. "Kung before, medyo juvenile pa ang relationship mo, this time, pretty matured na. It's not final till you actually say before God and you say your vow. So until then, boyfriend-girlfriend pa, but it's a serious relationship. But we don't to think it too far or too fast," sabi niya. Sinabi rin ni Pia na okay pa rin naman daw sila ng kanyang non-showbiz ex-boyfriend of six years. Bagama't hindi naman sila yung nag-uusap talaga, pero they have something in common daw kasi na hanggang ngayon ay they both love. "We take care a dog," pagsisiwalat ni Pia. "Meron kaming joint custody sa dog namin. Naghihiraman kami ng aso kasi sobrang love namin yung dog namin that we can't let go of her. Kapag hihiramin ng isa, yung mga maid namin ang nagtatawagan at naghahatid. The dog's name is Snoop." SHOWBIZ CENTRAL. How does she feel na malapit na silang mag-celebrate ng first anniversary sa Showbiz Central? "How does it feel? Gosh! You'll never really feel the time passing that it's been a year, but you do feel how we're totally improving on the rating. We're really proud of that because it was no mean feat beating The Buzz. Because The Buzz is like almost an institution when it comes to showbiz talk show. "So, when we finally overtook them, it was quite satisfying. And they always keep us on our toes. So, every Sunday, we always make it a point to come up with a better show than the last, and we're always trying to improve with the numbers also," pahayag ni Pia. Aware naman daw si Pia na kahit ilang years na rin siyang host, may mga hindi pa rin siya napi-please na mga tao. "Oh, well, I don't think you'll be able to please everybody in a million years. Kahit naman si Oprah [Winfrey], kini-criticize pa rin hanggang ngayon, e. To think na institustyon na ‘yon sa States. In fact, her voice can elect a president, di ba? Sometimes, I use it to improve myself and sometimes, I just totally disregard it," sabi ng TV host. Bukod sa Showbiz Central, napapanood din si Pia sa noontime show na Eat Bulaga!, sa "Chika Minute" segment ng 24 Oras, at sa sitcom nila ni Vic na Ful Haus. May mga nagsasabi na overexposed na si Pia sa GMA-7, pero, surprisingly, lahat naman ng programang nilalabasan niya ay nagre-rate. "Kung nananawa ang mga tao sa akin, hindi naman siguro magre-rate ang lahat ng shows ko. And it's all different naman, e. Parang what I do here [Showbiz Central] is different from what I do in 24 Oras, what I do in Eat Bulaga!, in Ful Haus. So, I'm just very thankful to God that I was able to stretch all those different muscles in my brain," pagtatapos ni Pia. - Philippine Entertainment Portal
