Juancho Triviño packs on the drama in ‘Madrasta’

Look out, everyone.

Unang Hirit host and Kapuso hunk Juancho Triviño is the lead in GMA's upcoming teleserye "Madrasta," and he says it's one of his most challenging roles yet.

To give fans a taste, the actor shared his unforgettable experience during the second week of taping.

"It was nine scenes of dire-diretso, mahabang linya, and heavy drama, so siguro isa [iyon] sa mga pinaka-challenging scene na ginawa ko," Juancho said. 

Even though he ended the shoot dripping wet, the actor shared the joy of pulling off such a scene on Instagram.

We just might be seeing a lot more of Juancho's dramatic work as the actor just renewed his contract with GMA on Thursday. Playing the lead in "Madrasta" marks his seventh year with the network.

"I think I have a long way to go. Madrasta is just the start," said Juancho, who was among many GMA talents who took the Bova Acting Workshop under world-class acting coach Anthony Bova.

"'Yung mga roles that we have been giving him is in preparation. Lahat naman sila ganoon," said GMA Network senior vice president and Entertainment Group head Lilybeth Rasonable. "Of course, not everybody starts na lead na kaagad. Many of them, they go through different roles and workshops to hone you not only as an actor but as a professional in the industry."   — BM, GMA News
