First trailer for ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ highlights Hope van Dyne in action

Marvel Studios has released the trailer for its third film for 2018, "Ant-Man and the Wasp."

The first trailer of 2015's "Ant-Man" sequel highlights Hope van Dyne as the Wasp in action, fighting alongside Ant-Man. The trailer also revealed some features of Hope's suit that includes wings and blasters that Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) didn't put in Lang's suit.

At the end of the trailer, a Hello Kitty Pez dispenser expands and becomes a deadly weapon thrown on the street.

The movie takes place after the events of "Captain America: Civil War", where Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) was recruited as part of Cap's team against Tony Stark's crew of superheroes.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" will be the first Marvel film that includes a female superhero in the title. The movie is set for release in Philippine Cinemas on July 4. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas / AT, GMA News
