‘Honor Thy Father’ wins Best Asian Film at the Neuchâtel International 2016

Two days after actor John Lloyd Cruz received the Star Asia Award at the 15th New York Asian Film Festival, Erik Matti announced that "Honor Thy Father" garnered more international acclaim.

Matti posted a photo of his lead star on Instagram on Sunday to announce the film's win at the 2016 Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF), which was held in Switzerland.

Matti received the award for Best Asian Film himself.

The NIFFF was established in 2000 and this is the second time that the Philippines took home the prize in this category. The first was in 2012, when Jade Castro's "Remington and the Curse of the Zombadings" won. —ALG, GMA News
