Magic sweeps through ToyCon as ‘Encantadia’ cast makes appearance

Amihan, Alena, Danaya, and Pirena have made an appearance for the first time in a decade.

Along with some of the Encantadia cast members, the Sang'gres raised goosebumps among loyal fans when they graced ToyCon 2016 at the Mall of Asia in full costume for the first time.

The stars that will play the iconic characters in the anticipated reboot said that they felt like heroes.

"Ang saya, parang nakaka-hero yung dating," said Glaiza de Castro, who will play Pirena.

"Syempre fan din ako eh. Alam ko yung pakiramdam na makita yung taong hinahangaan ko lalo na kapag nakacostume siya. Nakakatuwa na isa kami dun," she added.

Encantadia was a popular fantaserye that first aired in 2005. GMA Network is set to release a retelling of the hit series this 2016.

Despite the decade off the air, fans loyally supported the return of Encantadia and its new cast.

"Nakakakilabot. Ang sarap sa feeling na maraming sumusuporta sa Encantadia," said Sanya Lopez who is set to portray Danaya.

Kylie Padilla, who will play Amihan, admitted that she hasn't totally wrapped her mind around it.

"I don't know if I fully grasp pa the whole concept na it was so big before...But seeing the fans' reaction, 'di ba it must be a big deal, and I'm really really thankful to be part of this, cause I never thought in my wildest dfreams that magiging part ako sa show na ganito," Kylie said.

According to the cast, the reboot will feature new adventures and an "enhanced" plotline.

"Masasabi naming maraming naidagdag. Mas naenhance," said Gabbi Garcia, who will play Alena.

Solenn Heussaff, Ruru Madrid, Mikee Quintos, Rocco Nacino, Rochelle Pangilinan, Migo Adecer, James Teng, and Pancho Magno were also present at the ToyCon appearance.

After a brief appearance on the main stage of ToyCon 2016, the stars signed autographs with their fans.

The cast returned to ToyCon on the third and last day for another meet and greet.
