'Ilustrado' wins multiple local and international awards
Kapuso show and the first bayani-serye on Philippine primetime TV “Ilustrado” continues to make waves in the entertainment industry one year after it initially aired on GMA Network last October 2014.
Topbilled by Kapuso actor and Pambansang Bae Alden Richards, who played the role of the country's national hero Dr. Jose Rizal, the show won the Silver Award for the Best Program Opening Sequence in the recently concluded PromaxBDA Asia Awards 2015 held in Singapore.
Earlier this year, “Ilustrado” was also one of the finalists in the Promax Global Excellence Award in New York.
Aside from international recognition, the show has also earned praises from several local award-giving bodies.
In the recently conluded 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television, “Ilustrado” won as the Best Drama Mini Series, while Alden won as the Best Drama Actor for his performance in the said program.
GMA's bayani-serye was also recognized as the Best Drama Series/Program in the 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards.
Due to popular demand, “Ilustrado” has been back on air since September 21 and may be viewed weekdays at 3:00 p.m. on GMA News TV. —Bianca Rose Dabu/AT, GMA News
