Walang humpay na ligaya: Eraserheads releasing new songs after more than a decade

The iconic Filipino rock band Eraserheads will be releasing their first new songs after more than a decade in September.

The release of two new songs — "Sabado" and "1995" — will be part of the travel issue of Esquire Philippines, which features the Pinoy "Fab Four" on the cover.

The magazine cover photo features Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala, and Marcus Adoro at a crosswalk in Abbey Road, which was originally featured on legendary British rock group the Beatles' eponymously-titled record.

The shot was taken earlier this year when the Eraserheads traveled to London for a series of shows.

Earlier, Esquire Philippines had teased out an event featuring the Eraserheads for the launch of the issue.

The Eraserheads broke up in 2002 shortly after the departure of Buendia, the band's vocalist and lead songwriter.

They reunited in 2008 for a concert that was cut short because of Buendia's health issues. The Eraserheads haven't played a show in the Philippines since "The Final Set" concert in 2009, which drew more than a hundred thousand people at the Mall of Asia grounds.

The group, however, has been taking on international tour dates in the United States, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and the United Kingdom since 2012. — JST, GMA News
