Barbie Forteza keeps birthday tradition with kids

As she has done for the past four years, Barbie Forteza spent her special day with kids at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

The 17-year-old Kapuso teen star had a blast in an afternoon of fun and games with the young patients of PCMC.

The party started as soon as Barbie arrived. She was deeply touched when the kids sang “Happy Birthday” as she was entering the premises.

A lovely girl named Sophia led the prayer. Cheerful comedienne Tess Bomb hosted the program with Barbie.

The first game they played was “Bring Me,” after which four volunteers were asked to go on stage to greet Barbie. The one who was able to hold his breath the longest while saying “Happy birthday” was proclaimed the winner. The participants received a prize.

Then, it was time for Barbie to blow her birthday candles. Everyone sang “Happy Birthday” for her.  The kids proceeded to enjoy some scrumptious snacks while watching a magic show.

Barbie, in an interview, said she always spends her birthday at the PCMC because the kids are close to her heart.

“Actually, dito ako unang-unang nag-charity, tapos nag-stick na rin talaga ako dito kasi napalapit na ako sa mga bata at saka nakakatuwa silang panoorin na kahit may pinagdaraanan sila, nakangiti pa rin sila kapag nakikita nila ako. Talagang nakakatuwa at nakaka-inspire,” she said.

How did she spend her actual birthday last July 31?

As for her birthday wish, Barbie said she is content with her blessings.

“Talagang continuous naman ‘yung The Half Sisters. Balita ko, extended pa raw kami kaya nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng nanood at ang GMA talaga namang hindi ako pinababayaan,” she said. -  Samantha Portillo/Bochic Estrada, GMANetwork.com
