Pauleen Luna: 'I just nurture what I have'

 
We love her at noon, but get annoyed by her later in the day. We see two sides of Pauleen Luna everyday, as she is one of the hosts of the longest-running noontime show Eat Bulaga and plays the much-hated Tessa in The Borrowed Wife on GMA Afternoon Prime.

Pauleen is thankful to be part of Eat Bulaga because it’s where people see her wacky and joyful side.

“Nakikita nila yung totoong personality ko dun, na hindi naman talaga ako mataray kaya siguro hindi nila ako ma-hate full-on… I’m very thankful [sa] Eat Bulaga kasi para siyang ice breaker eh. Hindi nila nakikita na nagtataray lang ako sa teleserye, nakikita din nila yung totoo kong personality,” she said.

The actress has also familiarized herself with the nature of being a kontrabida. She has trained herself to release the strict and mean vibe that the roles entail so it wouldn’t affect her mood when the cameras stop rolling.

“Sa dalas ko na ring mag-kontrabida, natuto na rin ako to let go of it right away kasi kung hindi, ang hirap. [Baka] nasa bahay na ako, nagtataray pa rin ako,” she shared, laughing.

The 25-year-old actress/host is given kontrabida roles every so often. Does she want to play the lead role, for a change?

“Lahat naman siguro ng artista… gusto nilang mag-bida, [but] of course I’m very blessed na dire-diretso 'yung trabaho ko bilang isang kontrabida and I just nurture what I have, and ginagalingan ko na lang kung ano 'yung ibinibigay sa akin because it’s not every day we’re given a chance na mabigyan ng ganitong klaseng trabaho,” she declared.

She described her current project, The Borrowed Wife, as a breeze because of the work ethic of her co-stars Rafael Rosell, TJ Trinidad and Camille Prats. “They’re very laid back. Mababait sila… Kaya sa taping, masaya lang kami. Nagchichikahan lang kami palagi. At saka ang pinakamaganda sa amin, walang may attitude so mabilis ang trabaho” she said.
