Michael V on Pepito Manaloto: 'Most of our stories happen in real life'
"The reason that most of you find it easy to laugh at our jokes, punch lines and scenarios is because most of our stories happen in real life.
" One story alone can create a whole episode. But most of the time, we do two to three plots na the main plot would be for one specific character, and then sub-plots na kino-comprise ng ibang characters."
More than the ideas for every episode, ikinuwento rin ni Bitoy kung ano ang nagtulak sa kanya para gawin ang Pepito Manaloto. Aniya, isang high school friend ang nag-alok sa kanya dati to act in a movie "about people earning outrageous sums of money and not knowing what to do with it."
But Bitoy considers another person in being the inspiration behind Pepito's story. "Manny Pacquiao also became my inspiration. All of a sudden he was like that. I was thinking, what if someone actually won something, or all of a sudden got this outrageous sum of money and didn't know what to do with it?"
He hopes that through his show, he gets to teach everyone how to handle their money and live within their means. "If you're not that type of person na may kaya, kung mahirap ka, 'masa' as we call it, you'll be inspired when you watch it and actually tell yourself 'It's not so bad being mahirap' kasi when you become mayaman, maraming problema, maraming conflicts, maraming kung ano-anong nangyayari."
