Comedian Tado’s remains cremated

(Updated 4:25 p.m.) The remains of comedian Arvin "Tado" Jimenez were cremated Wednesday morning at Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City, GMA News TV's Balita Pilipinas reported.

His body was removed from a funeral parlor in Marikina City early Wednesday at around 8:30 a.m. and was brought to the cemetery via rescue pickup truck.

Tado's ashes were given blessing at the Loyola Chapel before these were taken to the family home with supporters aboard bicycles joining the procession.

Outside the crematorium, friends of Tado wrote messages on small pieces of paper.

A photo tweeted by GMA News' Vonne Aquino on Twitter showed several people standing respectfully as they watched the casket bearing the comedian's remains being transferred.

Since Sunday, several people had flocked to the funeral parlor to pay their respects to Tado, one of the fatalities in a bus accident last Friday in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

Last Friday, a bus of G.V. Florida Transport fell into a ravine, killing 15 people.

The incident prompted the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to preventively suspend for 30 days the bus firm's opertions and conduct surprise inspections. — With a report from Mac Macapendeg/LBG/KG, GMA News
