What's next for Tom Rodriguez?

He swept the nation off its feet when he took on the role of Vincent in My Husband’s Lover. The Tom Rodriguez fever continues this 2014 as he brings something new to the table. What’s in store for Tom?

GMANetwork.com caught up with the Kapuso leading man recently. He shared that after completing the My Husband’s Lover U.S. Tour with his co-stars, he spent the holidays with his family in the States.

He also mentioned that he has no New Year’s resolution this year. Instead, he prefers to try new things and go with wherever the ebb and flow of life will take him.

One of his new interests is extreme sports. Tom told us, “Actually, I got to try snowboarding for the first time this 2014 kaya at least I got the ball rolling. Ang sarap. I am kinda interested in extreme sports pero hindi ako nae-expose masyado. I wanna try skydiving, surfing and bungee jumping gusto ko rin.”

Tom is also looking forward to his upcoming film with no less than his My Husband’s Lover leading lady, Carla Abellana.

“The movie is called Let’s Take A Chance, so sana bigyan din kami ng chance ng mga manonood. I’m very excited. Ang ganda ng pelikula. It’s a really cute, charming and light-feel movie na totally iba sa My Husband’s Lover na puro iyakan,” he said.

What side of Tom will we see here? He replied, “Ang character ko ay si Goryo. Sapatero siya. He’s a single dad. Meron siyang anak na deaf and mute kaya it’s nice to see their relationship with each other din.”

He continued, “He meets Lira who’s a nouveau rich girl na ‘yung family niya parang nanalo sa lotto. Kahit ganun, she supports herself pa rin. It’s interesting to see na magkaiba ‘yung background nila and yet they have similarities pala.”

“The thing they kind of bond over is pareho silang sawi sa pag-ibig. Something happens in their respective love lives that brings them together in a kind of weird and goofy way,” stated Tom.

On his love team Carla Abellana, he said, “We’re very comfortable working with each other and napakagaling na artista ni Carla. Sobrang suwerte ko that my first movie for 2014 is with her.”
