Julie Anne's New Year's resolution: 'Hindi ako magbabago para sa ibang tao'

 
The year 2013 has been good for Julie Anne San Jose. She had her first major solo concert last May dubbed It’s My Time. She also won new as female recording artist at the 5th PMPC Star Awards for Music. Her self-titled album has reached 8x Platinum status and she starred in the GMA Telebabad series, Kahit Nasaan Ka Man.

Julie Anne’s single, “Pagbangon”, which is dedicated to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda reached the number 1 spot in iTunes. Now, Julie Anne lends her voice again for the song, “Bangon Kaibigan”, a network-wide campaign for the benefit of Yolanda survivors.

On being part of the campaign, Julie Anne said, “Sobrang honored po ako na kabilang ako sa campaign na ito, lalo na at alam ko na makakatulong po talaga ito sa mga biktima.”

How could people help Yolanda victims in their own small way?

Julie Anne replied, “Ang mga tao kasi, may kanya-kanyang ways sila. Alam naman na siguro nila kung paano tumulong kahit sa simpleng bagay man lang, like for example, magdo-donate ka para sa GMA Kapuso Foundation.”

She added, “Pwede rin silang mag-ipon ng money para makatulong sila. ‘Yung limang piso, kung lahat tayo magdodonate nun, marami na ‘yun at malaking tulong na ‘yun para sa kanila.”

What are her plans for Christmas?

“Magkakaroon ako ng concert sa Pampanga. Siguro ‘yun na ‘yung isa sa mga agenda ko. I’m planning to celebrate Christmas siguro sa bahay or I’ll just go somewhere with my family. Hindi naman importante kung saang lugar ka pupunta, basta ang importante magkakasama kayo at ramdam niyo ‘yung spirit of Christmas,” answered the talented singer.

How would she assess her 2013?

Julie said, “Wala naman akong nireregret na nangyari sa akin ngayong taon, kasi most of it ay sobrang magagandang bagay na nangyari sa akin, especially sa growth ng career ko, sa success and of course, as a person as well.”

She continued, “Hindi ko rin naman maiiwasan din na magkaroon ng iba’t ibang pagsubok sa buhay. Ang importante, I learned from them and I’m gonna continue learning pa rin kasi hindi pa naman ito ‘yung pinaka peak ng buhay.”

What is she looking forward to in 2014?

“I think next year, marami pa talaga akong mae-encounter. I’m really looking forward para sa mga changes. Open naman ako sa lahat ng possibilities na mangyayari as long as makakabuti pa rin sa akin. If it’s the Lord’s will, it will happen,” she stated.

As for her New Year’s resolution, Julie said, “Siguro, hindi ako magbabago para sa ibang tao. It’s more of pagbabago para sa sarili ko.”
