Tessie Tomas declares: 'Kapuso ako. I'm proud to say that'

 
The award-winning versatile actress Tessie Tomas has been in showbiz for 30 years. The Kapuso actress is currently portraying the role of Lola Corazon in Kahit Nasaan Ka Man. GMANetwork.com had a chance to sat down with her for an exclusive interview.
 
"Gustong- gusto ko ‘yung role ko kasi ‘di siya sobrang ma-drama, very light lang kaya gustong gusto ko siya,” she says.
 
"I have an exclusive contract in GMA. I would be seen by my fans dito lang sa istasyon na ito. So exclusively, Kapuso ako. I'm proud to say that,” she proudly reveals.
 
For her role, she says that she continues to improve herself in acting, “Kailangan talaga, you should be capable of transforming yourself into the role. Kailangan makita nila si Corazon not si Tessie Tomas. Aralin mo iyong role, slowly but surely mabubuo 'yun, it's a process of exploration.”
 
We asked the Kapuso actress how it is working with Kristoffer Martin, the lead actor in Kahit Nasaan Ka Man.
 
"Magaling siyang actor at saka madali siyang tumawa sa mga jokes ko. Hindi niya akalain na ma-joke akong tao. Sinasabi niya ‘Naku, tita ! Ang cool mo pala,” describing how they are on the set of Kahit Nasaan Ka Man.
 
What's her advice to the young Kapuso artists of the show?
 
"You have to continue improving your craft. Never be satisfied. There's always something new to learn. Be open minded, diligent and dedicated to your craft.”
 
Having portrayed many meaty roles from the past, does she still have a dream role?
 
"Meron pa rin, madre, hindi ko pa nagampanan, psychologist, ballerina, pwede pa naman.”
 
How is it working with the director of the show, Direk Gil Tejada, Jr.?
 
"Ang bait, first time ko siya naka-work, ang gaan, very clear siya magbigay ng directions, very simple, so madaling masundan.”
 
She says that the show is refreshing and it feels so good to be part of the cast.
 
"Parang ang ganda, very refreshing. Dito feel good lang. I think it will be successful kasi we have very good singers.”
