American Idol's Adam Lambert confirms cancellation of Manila show
By Juan Miguel Lago, GMA SOCIAL MEDIA TEAM
American Idol season eight runner-up Adam Lambert confirmed Thursday morning that his March 1 Manila concert has been canceled. Lambert apologized on Twitter for the cancellation and expalined that local promoters had failed to fulfill contractual obligations. "In other words- out of my control," he added.
Earlier this week, SM Tickets said that "unforeseen circumstances" had caused the cancelation of the show, which was supposed to be held at the SM North EDSA Skydome. A January 19 report from Philippine Daily Inquirer said the Lambert concert was supposed to be held at the MOA Arena, which has a seating capacity of 20,000. However, it was moved because of logistical problems involving the elaborate stage set-up of K-pop group "2PM", who was to perform the day after, March 2. The SM Skydome has a seating capacity of 1,500. — DVM, GMA NewsSad bout Manila.
