Charice wins Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards’ 'Favorite Asian Act'

Filipina singing sensation Charice Pempengco won the "Favorite Asian Act" title at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) after online fans gave her an overwhelming vote.

Charice bested Indonesian singer Agnes Monica, South Korean girl group Wonder Girls, and Malaysian musician Yuna.

On April 1, Charice tweeted “yey! we won!!! #NickKCA,” along with a photo of her holding the orange blimp trophy.

In a subsequent tweet, she thanked her fans, collectively known as “Chasters.” Her tweet read: “Thank You, Chasters for all the hardwork. I love you all... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 ∞”

Other winners at the 2012 KCA include Selena Gomez for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite TV Actress, Justin Bieber for Favorite Male Singer, Taylor Lautner for Favorite Buttkicker, and Tim Tebow for Favorite Male Athlete.

Taylor Swift also won the Big Help Award, which was presented to her by US First Lady Michelle Obama.
