Perjury raps vs Ara, Maui, Aubrey dropped

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City prosecutors office has dropped the perjury complaint against three actresses accused by their manager of lying in their case before the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB). The perjury raps against Ara Mina (Hazel Reyes in real life), Maui Taylor (Maureen Ann Fainsan) and Aubrey Miles (Aubrey Sandel) stemmed from the complaint they lodged before the HLURB against Rose Flamiano in October 2, 2008. In a three-page resolution, assistant city prosecutor Wilfredo Andres junked Flaminiano’s complaint in order to prevent the possibility of coming up with contradictory resolutions since her case before the HLURB is still pending. “It is but proper to wait first for the HLURB to make a ruling… because, howsoever the issue in the said case is resolved, such finding would be determinative of the resolution in this perjury complaint," Andres said. Andres noted that the issues raised in the HLURB case are “intimately related and intertwined with this present case." The three starlets slapped Flaminiano with complaint for specific performance for the delivery of property and title for the declaration of nullity of loans/mortgages. Lectric Law Library defines specific performance as a legal remedy that compels a party to fulfill the precise agreements settled in a contract. In their 2008 complaint, they claimed that Flaminiano asked them to purchase housing units at Rosmont Executive Villas in Tarlac City, with payments in form of audio visual presentation, three international and three local performances, billboards, one full-length movie, and radio plugging. The three asked the HLURB to nullify their supposed loans with the Home Development Fund and to compel Flaminiano to deliver the houses promised to them. After the complaint against her was filed, Flaminiano lodged perjury raps against the starlets for allegedly conspiring to come up with a case against her.
