Karylle: It’s over between Dingdong and me

Singer Karylle, who has been tightlipped about her reported breakup with boyfriend Dingdong Dantes, finally broke her silence Sunday and confirmed that their relationship is over, a report on GMA-7’s Showbiz Central said. Showbiz Central’s report was partly based on a column by Ricky Lo in the Philippine Star. Lo quoted Karylle as saying that the breakup happened in September. She declined to divulge the reason behind their decision to end the relationship. “For me there were many reasons that cannot be summed up in one statement. It's hard to trivialized things now you know. It's the only reason and it's up for the people to figure it out. Na, bahala na kayong intindihin," she told the columnist. On why it took her too long to break the sad news, Karylle said: “Not naman in denial. If it took time because it's hard to talk if you're not ready baka kung ano pa ang masabi mo. Siguro naman lahat ng break up masakit pero siyempre with this one the pain is times ten." Dingdong and Karylle had three-years of smooth relationship. The breakup rumors spread like wild fire following Dingdong’s team-up with his perennial leading lady, Marian Rivera. Because of this, Marian has been tagged as the third party in the controversial breakup. Asked if there really was a third party involved, she said: “Basta all I can say is I asked him (Dingdong) and he said ‘none.’" “Kanino pa ba naman ako magtatanong? So I trust him with that answer. Isang tao lang naman ang dapat kong tanungin at ‘yon ang sagot niya, so yung lang yun." Is Marian the culprit? Karylle once again declined to answer. But Karylle maintained Marian is her friend. “You know this is the truth: I always make it to a point to say hi to her. When I see her sa SOP kahit hindi niya ako makita, nilalapitan ko siya I say hi to her. Kahit isang daan tao pa ang nakaharang nakikipagsiksikan ako just to say hi to her," Karylle said. Because of the breakup, she admitted that she had to go through counseling in order to be able to cope with the pain. “I won’t say moving on. I’d rather say moving forward para mas mabilis." Marian airs side “Masakit mapagbintangan lalo na’t hindi totoo." This was the sentiment of Marian on Sunday as she belied rumors that she caused the Karylle-Dingdong breakup. In a statement released to GMA-7’s Showbiz Central, Marian admitted that the issue surrounding the controversial break-up has already affected her. “Aamin ko na po na naapektuhan ako sa mga usap-usapan na ako dahilan ng breakup nila Dingdong at Karylle," she said. “Please lang po wag naman sanang ganon. Kahit ako o kahit sino siguro sa atin walang makakaalam, makakaunawa, at walang dapat manghimasok sa pinagdadaanan nilang dalawa." Marian has been Dingdong's onscreen perennial partner for over a year now. And some people have speculated that Marian might be the cause of the breakup. Marian reiterated that she has no romantic relationship with Dingdong, adding that they keep their relationship on a professional level. “Sinasabi ko ng hayagan wala po kaming serious relationship ni Dingdong. Ang meron kami ang isang magandang love-team, isang magandang samahan, na salamat sa Dios ay effective naman at tinanggap ng nanonood sa amin. Gusto ko pong alagaan at ipagpatuloy yan habang binibigyan kami ng pagkakataon," she added. - Aie Balagtas See, GMANews.TV
